21 Day Fast Day 9

Today is Week 2 day 2 of our 21 Day Fast, January 16, 2024.  Today’s society is inundated with the vocal minority taking over the airways of the major news outlets. They have gone against tried and true historical beliefs that have been foundational for thousands of years. Isaiah prophesied about them. Isaiah 5:20-21 (ESV) 20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! 21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and shrewd in their own sight!

College campuses across the country have be indoctrinating our children with Marxist and Socialist concepts since the Sixties. They have been reprogramming students to think differently than they were taught at home. I could get some pushback from those defending the good schools, but those schools are in the minority. These are really desperate days! The Bible is being put on a bad book list because its teachings are contrary to the arbitrary new cultural norms.  Good is being called evil and evil is being called good!  I can’t quote the reference but a statistic came out saying that young Christians just starting college were talked out of their faith in the first 30 days. These may have been nominal Christians, but this has to change! We need to be people of the Word and teach our children the Word. They need to learn the Bible.

Psalm 119:9-11 (ESV) 9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. 10 With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! 11 I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Psalm 119:105 (ESV) 105 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV) 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Let’s pray: Dear Lord Jesus, You are the Living Word of God. We thank you for loving us so much and giving us eternal life. We don’t want to take our lives for granted. We were created by you and for you. Help us to walk more closely in you. We’re asking for a fresh infilling of your precious Holy Spirit so we can be renewed on this fast and bring you glory by becoming who you intended us to be. We are so grateful for all you’ve done for us! We thank you for your Word and ask for the wisdom to navigate these treacherous social waters that are wreaking havoc in our nation and our world. Put your hedge of protection around our children and our loved ones. We want you to be glorified by the lives we live in full view of our community, our nation and our world.

Here are the Bible verses for Week 2. May they encourage and strengthen you. Be blessed!

Love in Christ,

Pastor Ray
