21 Day Fast Day 15
Welcome to the beginning of the final week of our 21 day fast. It’s been a time of slowing down a bit. We’ve changed our normal routines to make room for hearing the voice of God! I think it’s quite fitting that we are doing this at the beginning of 2025 which is about to usher in the newly elected 47th president of the United States of America TODAY! Our country needs revival. It has lost its way and needs to be put back on course. We need divine help for this. Fasting and prayer has been the “tried and true” means to accomplish this.
In 2 Chronicles 20 King Jehoshaphat got some alarming news that a great multitude was coming against him and could wipe out his country. In verse 3 it says, “Then Jehoshaphat was afraid and set his face to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. 4 And Judah assembled to seek help from the LORD; from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.” (I encourage you to open your Bible and turn to this amazing story. God intervened in an incredible way that will encourage you.) I believe God will do the same for us. We are in as deep a problem as Jehoshaphat was. The battle for our children is raging! The battle for our nation requires radical change. It won’t just happen automatically. It requires a move from God. I quoted this promise from the Lord that requires our participation. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV) 14 If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
God will keep his word if his people take action. We are “His People!” 2 Peter 1:3-4 (NIV) 3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NIV) 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
Let’s continue to pray for President Trump and for each other. We need wisdom to know how we can do our part to make a difference in our community, our State, and this world with God’s help.
Love and blessings,
Pastor Ray
