21 Day Fast Day 11
I trust that this fast is helping us to slow down by entering into a deeper contemplation on what is most important to us. The rapid pace of our society, our responsibilities, our desires, and our feelings of not having enough time to do what we need to do can bring stress and feelings of failure or even disillusionment. We can’t let that happen. Our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ is really the only thing that can bring the equilibrium we need. He is our very life! I’ve gone into tail spins plenty of times by allowing my circumstances to dictate my mood or mindset. I am thankful that by his grace he quickens my heart, my mind and spirit to get back on track. He’ll drop hints along the way until I finally respond to his nudging and get the message. He really wants me to take the initiative by believing his Word and obeying his leading.
Jesus is the Living Word. He wants us to believe it, respond to it and obey it. Look at these powerful verses and promises.
Matthew 18:20 - "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."
1 Corinthians 3:16 - "Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?"
Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Ephesians 6:10-20 (ESV)
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, 18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
God bless you. You got this!!!
