21 Day Fast Day 2
This is day 2 of our 21 day fast and I wanted to encourage you to stick to it! You’ll be glad you did. I’ve heard of people who had forgotten about the fast and ate normally and then remembered but figured “Oh well I missed it. Maybe next time…” No, we should just jump on board, thank God for what we got to eat and dive back in! He’ll be pleased with that!
Jesus fasted. You could think, “Why would he have to fast?” He was a man just like us! He was tempted just like us but never sinned. He needed the same help we need. He taught on this: “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:16-18 ESV
Did you take notice of that last line?
“And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” That’s amazing! We get rewarded!!! I want to participate in order to please the Lord and receive whatever he has for me!
Let’s remember to pray for one another!
